I was listening to Circles by Post Malone and I envisioned him looking like some Pop Singer like Charlie Puth. I saw his picture and he looks like a Metalhead with a bunch of face tattoos! I was surprised!

I was listening to Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up and Together Forever and I was expecting him to look like a Black R'B Singer like James Ingram. I saw his picture and he is a red headed White Man. I was surprised!

The most recent example for me that I can think of is Bobby Caldwell. After discovering his song "What You Won't Do For Love" I was fully expecting him to be a black man.

Probably most singers I can think of look differently than I thought they did..

Hmm too. I also thought Bobby Caldwell was a Black man.

He is a White Man!

Yeah, I was very surprised.

I initially had the name of his song wrong. I corrected it in my previous post.

Yeah I agree with you about Rick Astley (I like him). But hearing that voice in the 80s (I was in my late teens and I think Rick Astley was like 21 at the time so he's just a little older than me) I think most of us were really surprised to find out it was coming out of this rather young, fair skinned, redhead with freckles LOL. I just remember thinking that voice doesn't go with that face at all. LOL. But he really is an amazing singer.

I was blown away when I first learned that Daryl of the Hall & Oates duo is a white man. To me, he sounds like an African American man.

Really? That's interesting to know. There's been some singers that I thought were black when I first heard them on the radio too but then I found out they're white. But I can't remember who any of them are now.

This guy doesn't look anything like how I pictured him. I thought that he was going to be a black headed guy with a darker shade of skin.

Remember that big song Maniac from the 1983 movie Flashdance?

I always mentally pictured the guy singing to look something like this.

But was quite shocked to find out he actually looks like a Truck Driver!
