"Amen" is my all-time favorite show, so I like all of the episodes. One of my favorites is the Christmas episode from the last season when Thelma finally tells off Reuben's mother....she was asking for it!

One of my fave episodes was the wedding episode where Reuben fainted at the alter and Thelma practically had a nervous breakdown. Another one of my favorites was the one when Thelma joined the army and then returned home and put too much yeast in what she was cooking and dough exploded all over the kitchen. I liked all the episodes where
Thelma atempted to cook.

"Amen" was a funny-ass show, but tehre are some shows that I clearly remember:

- Thelma and Reuben's honeymoon: Loved when that guy was out the window and Rueben was trying to coax him back in, and Thelma comes right out there and tells him right off

- The courtroom episode where the woman started dancing on Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness"

- The one where Deacon Frye goes out into the woods to get rid of a trap and gets sprayed by a skunk.

"Deacon On The Line", "Wedding Bell Blues", and "Casting The First Stone". They were all hilarious!!

My all time favorite episode is when Thelma and Reuben FINALLY get married. I also like the one after they are married and Reuben is having some difficulty "performing his husbandly duties." that episode, besides being funny, also portrays Reuben as a man first and a man of God second. I also liked the episodes where either Thelma or Reuben were jealous of someone else being interested in the other person.

my favorite episode is when amelia developed her gambling addiction again and earnest had to get her money back. when he was bluffing i was dying of laughter and the last joke at the end bout the money was just insane. my 2nd favorite episode was the DUELING MINISTERS when ruben and johnny were going back and forth at the recession of a funeral.

^ Yes, those were both good ones. I also love the commercial years later where Roz Ryan plays a lady who wins the lotto and keeps going "OH YEAH!" Then she has a minor accident and asks her insurance agent, "Am I covered?" He said yes, and again she goes, "OH YEAH!"

Any episode when Fyre advises Thelma on how to handle Reuben. I like the episode when Frye breaks into the Reverends apartment to steal back the tape when thelma tells reuben she's tired of waiting on him. The most funiest part is whe the Reverend goes on the ledge to tell a man (Deacon)who he thought was going to jump to get back inside but Deacon goes inside of the other window. When the reverend asks him what is he doing here he says I was driving by and saw you standing out here on the ledge so I came right up.

Default Favorite Episode

I'd have to say my first place episode is the one with Nell Carter but next to that one I think my favorite would be the episode where the deacon was defending the church over some potentially tainted potato salad. How he held it together until the judge ruled is amazing to me

Yeah, the potato salad episode was fun, too. I loved Deacon crawling out the door to be sick. Talk about taking one for the team!!!!

All the episodes pertaining to Reuben and Thelma's relationship. But my FAVORITE episode is "Thelma's Reunion". This is the episode in which Reuben honestly saw Thelma as an attractive, vibrant woman, and became smitten. Wow, what a romantic episode...!
