I want if its possible to air a show on regular broadcast syndication even though its played on Nick At Nite, TV Land, Hallmark, WGN, TBS, and TNN?
Because I have noticed that since Cheers, Roseanne, Mama's Family, Family Matters, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, etc. have been added to cable syndication they were pulled out of the local networks! Why is that? |

Sometimes, when a cable network purchases a show to rerun, they pay for exclusive rights, meaning no other cable station or local station may air the program. This depends on how much the cable station is willing to pay, whether or not the show is still drawing audiences in local syndication, and when local stations' agreements for the show are up for renewal.
I live in the Boston area, and we still have "Roseanne", "Cheers", "Bewitched", and "I Dream of Jeannie" on our local stations, BTW. |

My CBS affiliate shows Coach and Roseanne constantly and my WB shows Jeannie and Bewitched each twice a day.

I don't know where you live. But here in Seattle, we still get Home Improvement, Roseanne, Full House, the Cosby show in syndication even though TBS plays them.

Yeah, I still get Mama's Family, Cosby Show, Martin, Fresh Prince, Roseanne, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The A-Team, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Andy Griffith. Full House, Friends, and Home Improvement too. Yeah, Roseanne also.

some of those shows still run on local networks around me.
im kind of disappointed with the dwindling of independant stations these days., you know what i mean. its like upn and wb take over all these little stations all over the country, and then that means more national stuff and less reruns of those hard to find little shows. like, it wasnt that many years ago that one of my tiny local stations ran threes a crowd and the ropers back to back, and other little things like that, but then the wb took over that station a few years ago, so now its showing the same thing as all over the country. i really miss some of the goofball stuff i used to be able to watch. |

In several markets there are shows that have moved from station to station (even all the major stations in one market). Has there even been cases like these in your market?
