Cool Hair today, gone tomorrow: Rockers who are bald

We had a thread not too long ago about rock bands and artists who use makeup or masks. Let's try another distinctive look: Rockers who have no hair who are balding. Rock once used to be the place where long hair was a major feature. That is not true so much any more. Who are some shiny dome rockers?

The first photo is of Scott Ian, rhythm guitarist for metal band Anthrax during the 80's when he had plenty of hair. The other photo is one of him sporting his current look.

I know that Mark Miller of the Sawyer Brown band is not a rock act, but his hair did eventually go.

God bless you and him always!!!

P.S. 1987 and 1997 are when those two videos were done. Can you believe that it's been 25 years and 35 years since then???

He wasn't a name most people know - Bob Kulick. His more famous brother, Bruce Kulick, was with KISS from 1984-1996.

Bob did a lot of credited/uncredited work for many bands such as KISS, Lou Reed, Meat Loaf, W.A.S.P. ... among many others.

Cool

Here is an early picture of Judas Priest in 1973 when they released their first demo. Rob Halford, who had just joined the band, sported long hair in the days when they were more of a bluesy rock band before becoming the metal titans by the end of the decade.

In the next picture of Judas Priest from 1977 when their metal sound was becoming more defined, the band wore "glam-my" clothing and Halford wore his hair shorter.

In the photo from around 1980/81, during the tour for 'British Steel', Halford adopted his trademark leather-&-studs look, with a cereal-bowl haircut.

In the photo from US Festival in 1983, on Heavy Metal Sunday, Halford cut his hair even shorter.

In the final, more recent photo, Halford shaves his head entirely. Currently he keeps his head shaved while growing a long silvery beard.

Cool

Geoff Tate, former vocalist for Queensryche in 1986, during the 'Rage For Order' era. While their music was progressive metal, they received points for having the most glam hair for a "thinking man's metal band".

Geoff Tate in 2021 performing live as a solo artist. Not only had he left the band earlier on rather acrimonious terms, but he no longer had his trademark hairdo from the 80's.
