If The Cosby Show went on to a Ninth Season, how popular do you think it would have been? Would you still have watched?

I would have still watched it, because I am a loyal fan of the show. I was sad when it ended...BUT it probably wouldn't have done very well ratings wise.
The Cosby Show, as much as I love it, was ready to end. The kids were pretty much grown. I missed Denise and hated the fact the Vanessa's appearance on the show was so rare(At least they did give her an interesting story-line for season 8. During season 7 it was like she had one line every five or six shows. ) I also did not like that several of the stories focused on Pam and her friends. I missed the "true" Huxtables. This show was the best...but sadly, a ninth season probably would have been a mistake. |

I agree with FactsFan! However, if the Cosby Show were to start in 1987, it would one of the last greatest show ever and would last until the mid to late 1990s. Still, the Cosby Show was for the 1980s anyway. If it did go to, like 1997 or so, it would draw several viewers and when other shows and stations begin to hit the crapper around 1996 or 1997, this would really put NBC in great shape. The dark side to this, the Huxtables should have started with Denise and Sondra as teens, Theo as a preteen and Vanessa as 9 year old and Rudy as a baby. I really did not want to see them all grown up. I think that The Cosby Show was supposed to end around like 1990 or 1991. Of course, ratings wise, it went until April of 1992. It was great for NBC to do a reunion.

Personally Cosby Show should have ended after season six. The last two seasons looking at them now were horrible. The original concept went away. That Olivia got on my nerves with that adult dialogue. Maybe season seven could have been good. Season eight was not a good season. Cosby, himself, admitted that he let show stay on too long.

I think 8 years was perfect for that show. Of course the kids get older and the plots become less and less funny, but it's kind of heartwarming to see them grow up and become adults. |

Probably not. It was already going downhill in it's 7th and 8th seasons.

No. Season 8 stunk because the writing and directing was outdated and cheesy. They should of ended the show after season 7.
