If you grew up in the 70's you probably might have seen the classic film The Wiz. The Wiz debuted in theaters in 1978 and starred Diana Ross as Dorothy and Michael Jackson and was based on a Broadway play. Though some fans of The Wizard Of Oz think it was an odd remake The Wiz is one of the best movies. The Wiz also featured the songs Ease On Down The Road and the showstopper Home which was also covered by Stephanie Mills on her 1989 album of the same name and was also done live by NBC as The Wiz Live. This is a movie that should be mentioned more because it's a great classic musical movie

I havent seen it but I somehow doubt its better than the original.... (I have the 1980 release on VHS)
