Default Fall or Autumn?

Which do you call it? And why is it the only season with 2 names?

Isn't this one of those "one people, two languages" things where the tight sphinctered Brits insist that Americans are barbarians when it comes to the kings English?

I prefer Autumn because it has six letters just like the other seasons. Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn.

I think Fall is used as an alternate name for Autumn because that is the season when the leaves "fall" off of the trees.

I like the word "Autumn" but in everyday conversation I usually go with "Fall".

Being born and raised in the East, it was always Fall. Here in SO CA there is such a very small change in seasons.

Yep !! I bet it was originally just Autumn , than due to the falling leaves, it became known as fall a lot !
