So far only seasons 1 and 2 have been released on DVD, nothing yet for seasons 3, 4, and 5. At this current time however all 5 seasons are up for viewing on the Tubi website.
On the seasons 1 and 2 DVD's from Sony, some episodes have the opening teasers missing. And on part 2 of the Jury Duty episode, the three minute recap of part 1 is missing. No new footage was deleted but I wish these people who work on DVD sets would stop with these sneaky little edits and just put the shows on the discs as they originally aired and include any teasers or recaps. Part 2 of Jury Duty is currently on Tubi, it's complete and includes the recap of part 1. I think the season 1 and 2 DVD's from Sony are now out of print and not easy to find. At this point what would really need to happen is a complete series DVD release. Just release it all in one package. Kristy McNichol is such a cutie pie in this show, I had a big time crush on her back in the day. |

The website Mantronix Retro TV has made available a complete series DVD of Family. It's advertised as a 30 disc set but the set I purchased has 24 discs, it's awesome and I love it.
The disc media in the set is DVD+, so a DVD player that can read and play DVD+ discs is required. Episodes from seasons 1-3 are widescreen formatted and episodes from seasons 4-5 are full screen. The 4th season episode titled Magic runs only 44 minutes and appears to be an edited for syndication print. All other episodes appear complete/unedited. Watching these episodes I am re-living my teenage crush on Kristy McNichol. She's so cute in this show, good actress too, I adore her.
