I’m still trying to figure out why in hell was she eating pet food. Was that the only alternative in the 70s? I don’t know, because it certainly wasn’t that way for my family. How bad off can you be to digest pet food every night?

Like the guy said in the video, I also don’t get why Gurdy was so offended. I get that it’s embarrassing, but she was acting as if she wasn’t eating what she was eating and it was all made up.

BTW: Am I the only one that WOULDN’T eat the meatloaf? That sh*t just didn’t look right.

This episode is so ridiculous that its one of my favorites. I see the point of people having it tough in the projects but eating dog food? That's a bridge too far. It also was ridiculous that Gurdy would not take cash (money under the table) for singing lessons for Thelma and would report that income to the IRS so they would reduce her social security benefits.
The scene of them around the dining table making up excuses not to eat the meatloaf is hysterical even though the original premise is ridiculous.
