Bill Cosby/Bob Newhart sitcom - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Talk about a comedy dreamteam. I would love to see a sitcom staring these two television greats. These two are very different yet so much alike in their comedy styles. I think the two differences in comedy styles would perfectly combliment the other.

Thow both of them would have to learn to coexist since Cosby and Newhart are use to running their own shows. I think Cosby should be the Executive Producer with Cosby understanding that Newhart is not an employee. The use of children on the show would have be worked between the two of them because Newhart prefers not to work with children on the regular basis and going for the "easy laugh" through Newhart shows have had children (Jerry's patients, Howard's son, Baby Stephine) though Newhart has mellowed a little bit on that believe, and we all know how Cosby fells about working with children. Solution let Bill have his kids and keep the kids sences with Newhart to a minemum. The supporting cast has to be good if not great. On any Cosby or Newhart show the supporting cast are just as important if not more important than the lead character.

Here is the premeous for the show, Bill and Bob play retired friends who are neighbors. I am not sure if their wives are alive or if they played widowers or if one of their wives are still alive and the other character's wife is dead. Just like Newhart's last show George and Leo one of the characters son is married to the other characters daughter. (that is right an interracial couple) Of course the son and daughter will get in fights with one another, and Bill and Bob will do what they always do on their shows get sucked into other people's problems and try to solve them eventhough they rather stay out of it (in Newhart's case unless he gets payed for it). The cast will be equal to or close to the same number of krocations and african americans which is rare in TV.

This is all hypothedical. I don't exept it to happen, especially since both of them have "retired" from being regulars on a sitcom. What do you think? Wouldn't it be great to see Bill Cosby and Bob Newhart star in a sitcom together.

That would be so awesome!! All the characters from their old shows could come back as guest stars!! I WISH!!
