Worrell you might be surprised to know that Ernest became a huge celebrity by starring in a series of commercials for Mello Yello and featured Ernest at his funniest as he tries to offer "Vern" a taste of Mello Yello and the commercials are so funny you'll howl with laughter. Jim Varney was truly a comic genius and by making himself a household name in the Ernest movies these commercials were truly a huge stepping stone for Ernest as a celebrity and also launching his own funny Saturday morning kids show called Hey, Vern It's Ernest. Mello Yello was very smart to do these commercials with Jim Varney because he probably helped sell Mello Yello a lot
