If you ever wanted to master typing on the computer so easily or learning how to brush up on your typing skills in a flash then you might've owned a copy of Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing in high school or when you were studying journalism in college and learning the simple steps of becoming a successful writer. Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing is one of the best selling computer typing games in the world and is still a huge bestseller in computer games today since the series debuted in the 1980's. Though some people think Mavis Beacon is an actual person there is no real Mavis Beacon who the series is named after but she is a character who continues to impress the world by showing people the easy way to master typing in a flash. I looked at some clips of Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing on Youtube and it's simply an amazing game to help master the simple basics of typing and it has games too to help you with your typing skills such as a racing game a Space Invaders like game and a Supermarket Sweep like game that has you scan the prices of groceries just by mastering how to type your numbers. And a kids version was made in the 90's as well. I wonder why typing games for the computer today aren't just as good as this series? But if you ever wanted to type the simple way give the Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing series a try and see how wonderful of a series it really is

Typing is the ONLY class in my entire life that I dropped out of. Tried to take a one semester "opener" in college. And their program was set up where the student follows prerecorded lessons in the Center for Audio Visual Education (CAVE)....with "helpful" instructors looking over your shoulders.
One instructor told me to work on speed, and accuracy would come later, while a different instructor a few days later told me to concentrate on accuracy, and speed would come with experience. I went down to the registrar's office to withdraw, that day. There was just something unnerving about having to press keys without looking at them that really ran against my grain. And, this is still true to this day. Even after 30 years of using the internet, despite knowing the key locations by heart, I still prefer to watch the keys as I type them, and then proofread afterwards (or "not", in many instances) Funny thing about that, the laptop I use most often, the characters are worn completely off 20 keys, and I still watch the keyboard while typing....knowing which key it's supposed to be, and comforting myself that I won't hit the wrong one is just more important (to me) than WPM |

I scored very high in typing and SHORTHAND and most here probably don't know about Gregg Shorthand, I got awards. I type good enough and fast enough and don't type long articles/stories anyway.
