I know Eddie was made out to be a creep, and I know he was, but not in every way, I mean, he never stole, he never hit n-e-1 except Wally, If he was so terrible, he wouldn't bother being polite to the grown-ups. How about those two times where he bought Wally that batterie for his car, and he appalogized, and about the frat house, he made a great apology for thst. There are others too. Can any one else think of anything.

I agree! I think Eddie was great! He was a little "artificial" and everything, but all in all he was a pretty good guy! Eddie Haskell is my favorite LITB character!

Yeah. I really don't like it when people, even on LITB say how bad he is. He's a good guy, just a little over stimulated. Anyway, try and name one thing he did that really was really bad.

Eddie Haskell never did anything really bad. Eddie was "all bark and no bite" if you know what I mean.

How about the episode where Beaver and one of his friends messes up Wally's suit and Eddie sees how worried Beav is, convinces Wally to wear something else. I thought that was so sweet. |

I dont think Eddie was ever considered what you would call "bad" or something real horrible, he was more thought of as a wise-guy or sometimes a bit of a bad influence on Wally and the Beaver. If he were truly a bad seed I dont think Ward and June would have allowed Wally and Beaver to be around him because it was obvious that Ward and June saw right through his personna.

It's true that Eddie was not evil all the way through, and he and the term "wise guy" have become identified with each other. But some things he did were worse than others, and as "really bad" one incident would be when he changed the mark on Beaver's report card from D- to B+ so that Ward, June, and his teacher would be sure that Beaver did it {that was his stated reason-- "Because when they find out what mark he really got, they's clobber him!"} This was deliberately interfering with communication between teacher and parents about a student's progress and current standing. So I think that was "really bad," and Eddie only owned up to it when Wally figured it out and forced him to call the Cleavers to confess. |

And also when Eddie blamed Wally for putting those notes in the paper towel thing as bthe answers to the test, he came to Wallys house and apologized. And Beaver sais he wasn't so bad, because two big guys were throwing apples at him and Larry, and Eddie made him eat a whole rotten apple. Has anyone seen the episode where he did that, I saw it in an episode guide.

I think part of the reason Eddie isn't as bad as he could be is because of Wally and the rest of the Cleavers. Wally especially is a good example to him, and also helps put him in his place.

I have thoroughly researched the psychological profile of one Edward "Eddie" Haskell.
First, it is significant that he went by the name, "Eddie" as opposed to his given name of Edward. This suggests a profound sense of rebellion. Secondly, it is important to note that he called Theodore by the name of "Jack" on several occasions. Can someone let me know if The Beaver's middle name was Jack? If this was not the case, then Edward displayed a possible memory deficit or possible Oedipus Rex Syndrome. How ironic that he went to the dark side and became a law enforcement officer in his actual life. |
