The Honeymooners is coming to the big screen. The Honeymooners: The Movie

Now, find you're way... All I know is they should ask Nick Nolte to play Ralph... who would play the other characters....

Default You really think...

...Jim Carey's gonna play 'second fiddle' to a sit-com star?

It would probably be Kevin's 'dream job'...but I doubt Jim Carey would agree to be a supporting character.

And Nick Nolte? I can't picture HIM as Ralph!

No offense to Jim Carrey, but how well has his movies been doing lately? The Majestic? Man on the Moon? Don't even get me started on The Cable Guy! LOL

Thumbs up OH NO! Dont get ME started on 'The Cable Guy'!

It ALWAYS happens...mix dark drama (as in 'Chip Douglas' rocky childhood) with comedy, and the citics attack it!

For his directorial debut...Ben Stiller did a fine job (IMO) of film making with TCG!

The characters were defined well...and the sub-plot (Sweet murder) worked perfectly to bring the whole movie together at the end!

And don't get me wrong...I'm not a Jim Carey 'nut' (although a big fan, 'The Grinch' is on my 'hate list'), he WAS making 20 million dollars a picture! I just can't see him as a supporting player!

I totally understand where you're coming from, even though Ed Norton was a very vital character(Perhaps even more important than Alice dare I say)to the Honeymooners.

I'm just trying to picture who looks the part and who could play the part. In the movie version, I believe they cast Brad Garrett(Everybody loves Raymond)as Ralph.

I think Kevin James would make an awesome Ralph. And Jim Carrey would be a great Ed, but I know what you mean Pontoon, it's not exactly a 20 million dollar part.

I've got a different take on Jim Carrey as Norton..

I'm not the world's biggest Jim Carrey fan (I liked him on "In Living Color" but can only take him in small doses), but I think that Carrey does have an understanding and appreciation of the history of comedy, and even though Ed Norton is not the "star" of the Honeymooners, I think that Carrey would consider it an honor to be able to play a part like Norton in a movie..

I've heard Carrey in some interviews, and he does seem to appreciate the many comedians who came before him and paved the way.

Besides, playing Norton would be a perfect opportunity for Carrey to "steal" every scene he's in, just as the original Norton did on the original show...what do y'all think?

Thumbs up Good points everyone!

This film COULD just be a 'blockbuster' if done right...which means an 'ensemble' cast WOULD be necessary to pull it off!

I CAN see it happen now! Could just 'breathe new life' to Carey's career, and possibly an Oscar nod for James as Ralph, if he plays his cards right!

WTG...you turned me around on this one!

"And AWAY we gooooooooooo!"
