A Lassie Movie

On various occasions, I have posted messages about events that happened the same year that actors and actresses on different shows were born (or died or had some sort of special experience). Because this show's Helen Hunt is my favorite actress and she was born in 1963, I have posted a lot of threads about things that happened that year. Lisa Kudrow (who played a marginal character in this series) was also born in 1963. It will take another paragraph for me to tell you guys something new that I just learned happened that year.

My guess would be that most of you have, at one point or another, heard of a fictional dog named Lassie. There were all sorts of books, movies and series based on this character. Well, as a result of a long chain of events, I happened to be thinking about her and so I looked her up on the internet. I learned that the original series was first broadcast in 1954. It went on for seventeen years on prime time and for two more years in first-run syndication. Well, in the site that I learned this from, it said that in 1963, there was a theatrical movie about Lassie. I found this to be quite interesting. So now you know about a movie that came out the same year that our friend Helen was born!
