The last few episodes I've been watching on TVland in the credits it said "Tiger" Fafara as one of the guest actors. I thought I wonder if he's related to Stanley Fafara. Well, according to IMDB.com they are. I probably never would've guessed because Tooey always has those glasses on, but Whitey is so adorable!! He's my favorite friend of Beaver's!

Many of us old Beaver fans have long known the actors who played Whitey and Tooey were brothers. And I have thought it is possible-- though I don't know how probable-- that one reason Tooey wore those crazy bottle-thick glasses was so they would not be recognized as having too much resemblence. And I don't think they appeared in a scene together, that I can recall.
I also noticed a few days ago in the ep where Wally joins the Boy Scouts that 'Chester' did not join with Wally, Eddie, and Tooey, then he was seen later when they on their camping trip. The actor who played the scoutmaster was John Hart, and Chester was played by his son, Buddy Hart. It is also interesting that this father and son did not appear together, when it seems logical that Chester, one of the 'gang,' would also have joined the scouts with his friends. Possibly they didn't want a kid actor appearing with his dad because it would be difficult not to unintentionally play the role with deference. And, according to J. Mathers' autogiography, the kid actors often had enough trouble just keeping from giggling while shooting their scenes because of the joking and horseplay that went on while they were on the set. |
