Question

Okay a question for our older members...

Was anyone lucky enough to see the first Star Wars films (New Hope,Empire & ROTJ) in the original run at the cinema?

I cant remember if I ever did but I did see them all on analogue cable TV

Now I have parts 1,2 and 3 on VHS

1) Official tape
2) Recorded from USA network in 1995 (I wanna see if I can get an earlier copy)
3) Recorded from HBO sometime in the 80s

The original 3 movies are all I recognise..

Have seen all 3 originals during their original runs:

The first with my parents, remember standing in a long line outside.
The Empire Strikes Back with my oldest sister.
And Return Of The Jedi with my mom, and a friend of mine.

Saw the prequel trilogy at the theater with my wife.

And have seen all of the rest- sequel trilogy, Solo, and Rogue One with my wife and/or daughter at the theater.

I saw Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in theaters when they were released. Went with my brother.

I didn't see Star Wars ('77) back then, I can't remember how or when I later did see it.

My uncle first saw Star Wars when he was a teenager in 1977 and he was going with some of his friends when it came out because it was the weekend and my uncle liked to get together with his friends and go to the movies and so when Star Wars came out it just happened that my uncle had an extra ticket and so he took my mom and she liked Star Wars a lot mainly because of all the action and excitement and even today my uncle is still a Star Wars fan and has gotten his grandsons liking it too and even I like Star Wars a lot too. The first Star Wars film I saw was The Phantom Menace and I saw it in the theater and I became a huge Queen Amidala fan even before the movie came out and thought she was an awesome character and Queen Amidala really proved that we would see other female characters besides Princess Leia take center stage and introduce female fans to Star Wars and it has proven itself well with the addition of characters such as Rey and many new female characters added in future Star Wars films. I got the first three Star Wars films for my birthday last year and I also got Solo A Star Wars Story as well

Star Wars didn't even register with me until my friend Jim asked if I wanted to see it at the Hollywood theater a few blocks from our house. It was very good and I got all the stickers from wonder bread and the glasses from Burger King and the multitude of magazines.
Empire Strikes Back was good
I never did like Return Of The Jedi so I never seen any other Star Wars movies
