Lamont was a pretty good tap dancer

In couple of episodes, Lamont showcased his talent as a Tap dancer. In the episode "Brother, Can You Spare an Act?" with Fred's white brother-in-law Rodney as emceeing, Lamont almost Tap danced for three minutes on the stage. And in the episode "The Stand-Ins" with Fred's buddy Bowlegs, he Tap danced also. He seemed like a professional dancer.

Lamont also played drums in the episode with the Gong show and he seem to be pretty good at it. He did a quick solo and audience applauded him.

I like his performance in the Stand-ins a lot better

Demond Wilson actually performed at the Apollo in Harlem as a kid. He's been a performer for most of his life. A really talented guy.

Too bad they didn't showcase his talent more on the show. For example, him playing drums was a surprise to me. That is not something one learn playing overnight.
