Do you think a broadcast television network like MeTV will ever sell out?

Because I keep on worrying that 10 years from now we’ll see “The MeTV Awards” or some show called The Manipulative and The Mad on the channel.

To me, the diginets are the first time in an awful long time that over the air TV has been attractive to my preferences. So, the cynic in me says "yeah" eventually one of the big boys will try to gobble up their competition.

Well, it doesn’t ruin my life, but I think about the idea whenever I watch the channel

I think there will eventually be some consolidation of diginets, especially those airing sitcoms There are a lot of them now - Me TV, Antenna, Laff, Cozi, etc. Me TV can't keep airing MASH and Andy Griffith forever.

Could have sworn I read somewhere MASH and Andy had a 10 year contract for MeTV that started in 2014. So who knows.


I could easily see MeTV going the way of TVLand or MTV or even the SciFi channel. They're already airing new originally made shows, whose to say the entire channel won't be like that in the future?

If I see a show like “Miserable Busybodies” on MeTV five years from now, I’ll throw a fit.

Why not show Andy Griffith or MASH forever? I have advocated having a whole network dedicated to one show, like Law and Order or Gunsmoke.

Because that’s stupid. No offense, but I would not watch a channel like that. I wouldn’t even watch a channel like that if they showed my favorite sitcoms like The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, Mama’s Family, etc. MeTV is not a streaming service.
