Hey,
I remember seeing a very eerie episode about the death of an oldish (sixties) couple. The police speculated that it was a murder suicide (the husband shot the wife, than turned the gun on himself). However, the family cooked up some bizarre scenario about teenage burglars breaking into the house, murdering the couple, and throwing a party. They even interviewed neighbors who claimed they had seen lots of people at the house at a time when the husband and wife were dead. There was even reputed to be a video of the burglars raping the wife. UM interviewed a guy who claimed he saw the video, yet the police continue to stand by their original findings. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I have never seen this story on Lifetime, but I am certain this exists. Justin |

Some of the details sound familiar. Did it by some chance occur in Louisiana?

Unfortunately, I'm not sure. I want to say they showed it on the same episode that carried the stories about the Gurden (sp?) light, and a man claiming he was falsely imprisoned for murder based on botched/inconclusive DNA evidence. Couldn't find it in the episode guide though.
Thanks, Justin |

Okay. The only reason I asked was that I recall a segment on the 1991 murders of a young couple in Louisiana. The segment aired during the 1994-95 season (probably in early 1995), but has not been rerun on Lifetime. There was a claim that some group of youngsters were on the couple's property when the couple was apparently already dead. The segment, as I remember, mentioned that one of these youngsters went to jail and killed himself. But I can't remember whether he was arrested in connection with the double homicide.
As for another case you briefly mentioned, Stuart Heaton is the name of the man who claims that mishandled DNA tests lead to his murder conviction. The segment first aired in late 1994. |
