I'm getting more educated on the "push" for everyone to drive EV's and last night on Frank Sontag I learned more. It all sounds so easy breezy, just buy an EV and your life will be so much better.

Just ask the know it alls, and the EV's are the answer....Just need $50-60K at least up front and plenty of:

Lithium, Manganese, Cobalt, Nickel and Graphite

And use your EV for just around town, have that 2nd vehicle for longer trips.:headbang:

The push for EV's and other stuff continues stronger and stronger. The last week or more a higher up there person goes on: Get your EV, Get Your Solar Panels, Install a Charger in your home, Get a home generator, and it's mindboggling how out of reality those people are.

Oh, right, just get a generator that runs on natural gas. Thousands more.

I don't believe they want to "think it out"...it's instant profits and what happens happens. Just today in So Cal people are being requested to not use much of their electric stuff between 4 and 9 PM, due to the already taxed grid.

Just heard another "goodie" for the owner of an EV, the lithium batteries can get so hot and it can take hours for firest to be put out, the fire seems to be out and then re-ignites and starts up again and again. Oh those brainiacs...Heard a story of this happening in

Zebra: Personally I don't have a garage and when I need to heat my apt, I turn on my gas wall heater, it's far far far less expense than electric heat. I was born and raised in the East and MOST of that generation had furnaces and coal was used, and I'm sure these type houses are still around but the electric world has taken over a lot and talk about high costs of electric heating.

And there is so much info on the grid being taxed with all the electric appliances -- are you not ware of this?

I wouldn't group solar panels with electric vehicles -- the former are good for the environment and reduce reliance on conventionally generated electricity. The vehicles increase demand -- though you have to consider as well they don't have the polluting exhaust of gas-powered cars.

Just a street up from where I live, I noticed a homeowner has covered a south-facing roof with solar panels. If he/she plans to live there for a long time, it can be a good investment and really bring down the electric bills.

Windmills and Dinosaurs on way to Palm Springs

Quite a site to see and these windmills generate wind to produce electricity, Life in the desert is where A/C is a must. I live near the ocean and never owned an A/C.

The electricity generated by the wind turbines is used by the customers of the Southern California Edison Company. The San Gorgonio wind turbines produce approximately 600 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) every year. This amount of electricity is enough to meet the needs of 100,000 typical homes or about 250,000 people.

Solar paneling can work and I don't believe that many make the investment for the paneling.

Just heard a rather shocking story about a young man and his wife, they are just average wage earners and the wife is working 7 days a week at Nursing to make more and more money. 5 days at Kasier and 2 days at UCLA....so work work work....

Just heard they bought a close to $80K large model EV.....hard to understand this extravagent purchase by this hard working couple.....certainly not sensible to me.

Supposedly GM's fleet will be EV by 2035. They are after gov't. (our) money, pure and simple.

As far as the reduced pollution goes, it depends on what they do to increase the capacity of the electric grid (which will have to be done, which no one is doing now.) It means back to nuclear power, probably. If not, more burning some fuel, so goodby to reduced pollution. Windmills kill birds (birds are already in trouble) etc.....etc......
