Hi guys,
William Froug was the producer of Bewitched in the third season. I was reading his book called "How I escaped from Giligan's Island" and he said very interesting things about Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York's relationship behind the scenes. I posted right below the picture of an extract from William Froug's book, however if it's hard to read, I'm gonna do a transcription. ![]() “Alas, poor Dick York could merely lie motionless in pain against his slant board and look longingly towards his co-star. It seemed clear to me that York was in Love with Montgomery, and this annoyed her. For whatever reason, Monygomery clearly did not like her co-stat. Was it his weakness? I wondered. She stayed clear of him except when they played scenes together. I never saw them Exchange even the most casual dialogue off càmera. They left the set and immediately moved into distinctly separe worlds. He never complained.... “ So according the producer of Bewitched, Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York never talked with each other behind the scenes, and their relationship was non existant, because Liz wanted nothing to do with him. This is very interesting, isn't it? |

Ah, we're back to the only subject Monliz ever posts about. Surely if you've read William Froug's memoir, you've also seen the parts where Froug talks about his dislike for Montgomery, so do you really want to use him as a source?

The link to the book pages you posted are a fascinating read - and again Froug praises York over Montgomery. I don't necessarily believe Froug about Montgomery, but it is fascinating. |
