Default So Mr. Roper made fun of Jack being gay all the time but was going to look at

home NAKED in a home movie? lol Remember when Chrissy tells her Jack and Janet is in the movie when he thought it was a Blue movie, he decided to get comfortable and watch the movie until Mrs Roper came in

You would have thought once he heard Jack was in the movie his response would have been............"Jack is in it? No thanks,

LOL.

Didn’t Mr. Roper end up in bed with Jack (not sex, but literally, laying next to Jack in bed)?

Thats not quite right. Larry gets the porno movie from one of his friends on the vice squad. Roper finds out about it and the plan is to watch it at Jack's apt when the girls are out. The girls come back unexpectedly and Chrissy wants to show everyone her movie.

Earlier we see Chrissy showing off her home movies to everyone and they are not interested until Janet's top falls off behind a beach ball.

The last laugh is the porno movie turns out to be a cartoon and the guy's are saved

The girls come back and thats when Chrissy tell Mr. Roper Janet and Jack is in the movie. And then he goes to shut the door so he can watch the movie and Mrs roper comes in and then thats when Jack and Larry have no clue what to do thinking its a porn movie. So before Helen came in Stanley was going to watch a movie with naked Jack who he clowned for being gay and janet and chrissy

Yes but you are not explaining the context. Mr Roper came to the apartment after seeing Larry's x rated movie tape from the vice squad and wanting to watch it upstairs. When the guys arrive the girls surprise them when the tape is all set up. Chrissy thinks Jack is showing one of her tapes which is why Chrissy would say that Jack is in the movie. Mr Roper came to the apt to watch the movie that he saw in Larry's hands. Jack would not be in that movie.
Thats a huge context you leave out as if somehow Mr Roper came to the apartment and then just suddenly was asked to watch a movie with Jack in it. The guys are trapped by the girls since the movie projector is all hooked up and ready to go. The movie turns out to be a cartoon which saves the guys. It was a joke on Mr Roper that Chrissy said that but he was already there to watch the movie. Soon enough the joke is on everyone. Clever ending.

Let me this again. lol

Mr. Roper was coming to watch Larry's Movie and when he got to the APT he was wondering what chrissy and janet was doing at the apt and said......"wait yall are staying to watch this movie I didnt think yall be interested in this kind of movie" Then chrissy said "of course she interested she's in it" So he finds out the trio is in it and instead of leaving he goes to shut the door so he can watch the movie but thats when mrs roper comes in. Then he wanted to leave and she didnt.

So I was saying I figured he would leave once he found out Jack was in it

That scene got one of the biggest studio audience laughs ever according to Norman Fell.

That was a joke and a sexual misunderstanding that happens in all the jokes on Threes Company. His intent going to the apt was not to see Jack which is what you alluded to in your first thread (why did Roper want to watch Jack). That was not Roper's intent. Once Chrissy came home, they were all trapped and even Mrs Roper comes in and wants to watch the home movies. Its all typical Threes Company sexual misunderstandings. You could spend all day dissecting the Roper hypocrisy but its all for comedy. Why would Roper set his niece up with a gay guy? Why does Roper not care about gay sex in the apartment but has an issue with straight couples not married? Its all a set up for comedy.
I love that Roper put on his glasses.

Not that he was purposely going to see Jack but after finding out he was in it I would think he would be automatically decide to leave and not watch the movie But he didnt do that which I pointed out made it odd

But the context of the girls coming into the apartment and then Mrs Roper trapped the guys to continue with their original plan. You could also ask why the guys would turn on the projector to show a porno movie to the girls and Mrs Roper.

Logic would ruin the set up for a funny joke.
