Sony Pictures Television is set to turn its Wheel of Fortune game show franchise, with its legendary roulette wheel, into an online casino.

The Hollywood studio has teamed with BetMGM, the mobile gaming operator, and International Game Technology to launch the branded online Wheel of Fortune Casino in New Jersey later this year.

The online gaming extension, with real money wagering on branded Wheel of Fortune slot machines, comes as the TV game show franchise gets set for its 40th season and seeing around 250 versions of Wheel of Fortune slot games launched.

“We are delighted to be partnering with BetMGM for the launch of Wheel of Fortune’s very first online casino. With Wheel of Fortune celebrating its 40th season this year, we are pleased to continue offering players additional, new ways to play the games they know and love,” Suzanne Prete, executive vp of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, said in a statement.

BetMGM adds it will include “responsible gaming education” as part of the Wheel of Fortune Casino via GameSense, a program developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

When you look at the general picture if there is one game show that is still the survivor of all game shows Wheel Of Fortune ranks as the most popular game show in syndication and in the world second to Jeopardy. And when you take a popular game show that's been a huge bonafide hit for years it inspires many different versions of the game for people to enjoy at home. Wheel Of Fortune has done this since it's debut with board games Nintendo games Nintendo DS games Sega Genesis games Nintendo Switch games and even PC games of Wheel Of Fortune have been favorites of fans for years and there's now countless apps of Wheel Of Fortune too. With an online casino being now added to the Wheel Of Fortune franchise it seems like a smart idea for them to explore and create. Because with some game shows having their own slot machines in casinos these days these games have been very popular for years. With Wheel Of Fortune Casino I think this will be a daring move for them to try and if it's successful they will add prizes such as a million dollar jackpot and the chance to appear as a contestant on Wheel Of Fortune in a future episode or have tournaments where players can compete for a vacation or a new car. But whatever the outcome is this is a great chance for Wheel Of Fortune to take
