Update on Dave - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hospice called me this morning and told me that Dave's oxygen is low and he has a fever. He has been having trouble swallowing and cannot eat except for pureed food. This has been going on for over 2 weeks. But they told me today that he might only have a week to live as his body is starting to shut down. Not unexpected. They are giving him morphine to keep him comfortable. He has not been able to communicate with us so I don't think he even was aware that we were visiting him.
He does not want a funeral. He will be cremated and buried in the Great Lakes Veteran's cemetery about 20 miles from our home. Arrangements have been made . I will keep you posted. As I said it is not unexpected but still very hurtful.

It's a shame. Knowing it's going to happen and having it actually happen are not the same. At lease he will suffer no more.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. He will no longer be suffering and be in a better place. I know how it was for my father with trouble swallowing in his final weeks.
