"The Game's" Brittany Daniel Reveals Battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

"The Game" star Brittany Daniel reveals in a new interview with People that she was diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the summer of 2011.

Daniel, 38, received the diagnosis after she had started experiencing severe back pain, night sweats and flu-like symptoms. She started chemotherapy very quickly after receiving the news and started her recovery while living with her mom in the guest house of her twin sister and longtime "Sweet Valley High" co-star, Cynthia.

"There is no way I would have ever gotten through this without my family," Daniel tells the magazine. "My family is everything to me and I feel like they saw me through this."





At the time, the actress wanted to keep her illness private and only told a close group of family and friends. However, now that she is cancer-free, she wanted to go public to possibly help others going through the same battle.

"I want to let people know it is absolutely possible to get through something like this," she says. "I want people to know they are not alone."



Daniel will reprise her role as Kelly Pitts on "The Game" after a three-year hiatus.

I'm glad she's okay and back on the game. This isn't news to me since someone told me about this already.
