The Wall Street Journal reports WWE chairman and CEO's settlements were made to some who accused McMahon of misconduct. McMahon reportedly used his personal funds for a $3 million payout to a former employee after what his attorney calls a consensual relationship. That payout has prompted the board to investigate older settlements with other former female employees.

McMahon, who is under investigation by the WWE's board over allegations he agreed to pay $3 million to an ex-employee he had an affair, opened Friday night's show, saying: “It is a privilege as always to stand before you here tonight, the WWE universe…I’m here simply to remind you of the four words we just saw in what we call our WWE signature. Those four words are: then, now, forever, and the most important word is together. Welcome to SmackDown!'”
