I never enjoyed the first two seasons of the show as I always found it trying to find its legs; to me the show really starts with season three in the second house.I wonder if anyone out there agrees with me?

Beaver is pretty darn cute in the first two seasons. Hmm, I am going to not completely agree simply because he changes so much as he ages. It is like two different shows.

I kinda sorta disfavor season 1--I guess I mainly agree with Howard. One good episode in that season is when Larry drills the hole in the garage wall, and when Ward blames Beaver, he runs away.
But by season 2 they found their way, I think, and there are a lot of good episodes. Finally, they arrive at the best season--3. 3,2,6,5,4,1 or possibly 3,6,2,5,4,1. |

So you would be 3,4,6,2,5,1 by season.
I might be undervaluing season 4 since there are a few memorably bad episodes. |

Glad you agree! I really think Seasons 3-6 were the BEST as the plots and characters seemed to hit their stride! Also, I've noticed that from when this show started reruns in syndication back in the 60's through today, there doesn't seem to be ANY cuts/edits and stations apparently have no problem letting it run 31-32 minutes per episode. Also in the old days the producers did the cuts including re-scoring music such as Dick Van Dyke" and "Mary Tyler Moore" and all the "Lucy" shows ( all 3). I did discover that the MTM shows in reruns on my local station show the original full-length episodes when first aired on CBS! Kinda cool.

I kinda forgot about Voodoo Magic. That was a great episode beginning to end.
