Default Was Darrin an Alcoholic?

Seems like he was always mixing a drink for himself. Especially when something screwy was going on--which was pretty often! And he was shown tipsy on several occasions, too!

I don't think it was just Darrin, it seems everyone on the show were heavy drinkers.... It seems Larry usually had a drink in his hand as well

I think it was the times! In the 1960's seemed like a lot of business deals were done over cocktails! And even heavy drinkers were not considered alcoholics ! If you had a home, held a job and weren't in a flea bag hotel or in the gutter you weren't considered an alcoholic !

there was a lot of drinking going on all the time. i think advertising has that as part of its culture.

The one that I thought had a drinking problem was Larry. He always seemed to be drinking.

Martinis for all. Sam - make it double! I also loved the giant martini glasses that sometimes showed up with Maurice and Endora.

Yes, I agree. It seemed that Larry was more of a drinking than Darrin.

Yes, booze was big on Bewitched. Darrin, Larry, Dick Wilson's recurring drunk at the bar...

Yeah, I liked those big martini glasses too. Must have been a challenge for the prop man.

I think that giant martini glass was an actual store-bought item back then. You can still get them now in various designs. They are often used as bar decorations.

The had cocktails like they were drinking soda, but that's what they did in the 60's, and they all smoked everywhere as well.

Larry would come in at lunctime, and make himself a drink.

LOL

I think Gladys had a drinking problem. She was always seeing things over at the Stephens.

and that is true, there really was always something going on. I wonder if she had ever witnessed Endora on the roof of the Stephens house casting any type of spell.
