Sad Buffy News- Sarah wont be in Season 8

I read this at E! where Wanda had spoilers for season 7 of Buffy. Apparently Sarah wont sign for season 8 so they might change the show to Dawn as the slayer. Heres the article I found. I just want to know does anyone really like Dawn? If there was a Dawn spinoff would you actually watch it?

Quote:
Dawn of a New Era? The season premiere is very Dawn-centric; it revolves around the reopening of her new school (and Buffy's old), Sunnydale High. Meanwhile, the buzz is that Sarah Michelle Gellar won't sign on for an eighth season, and rumors have been circulating of a Buffyless Vampire Slayer (or perhaps a Dawn spinoff?) for the 2003-04 season. Joss had this to say on the possibility of a season without Sarah: "Yes, that has been given thought. Every variation of everything has been given thought. What's going to happen is so unknown to me it's kind of exciting. Anything could happen."

Default Shut down

Buffy has had a good run. I say stop it when Sarah decides to stop. I have the feeling if they do the whole Dawn as the slayer bit, it will just become a parody of itself. jmo....

I agree. There is no way the show will remain popular if Sarah leaves.

TJL's Rules of Television #345 - If you leave the show, and your character's name is in the title, people will notice.

I wish Sarah luck with ther movie career. That one she did with the talking crab was truly memorable.

I forgot Emma Caulfield (Anya) said in an interview she will be leaving the show this season. She said 4 years is enough, its time to move on. If there is a season 8 these characters would be in it- Spike, Xander, Dawn, and I think Willow. I'm not sure if she would do a season 8 or not. This season Glory, Master, Drucilla, and hopefully Faith will return. I hope Faith comes back I loved her in the show. They should do a spin off on her, not Dawn shes just annoying. If this show ends I hope Angel will at least be in the finale.

I think Buffy should end this season also. I mean 7 years is great but I don't want a good show turning into a irritating show that wont leave.

I agree. Especially since her character Buffy is in the title. The series should end there. There could be a spinoff of the show I suppose with the other characters that are still on the show, since David Boreanaz (I think that's how his last name is spelled), went on to the show, Angel.

I absolutely adore Dawn but..Dawn the vampire slayer? How about no. My view is that if Sarah goes I go. I don't think I'd watch a show with Dawn as the main character , it just doesn't seem right. I think it would be interesting if she went on Angel but her own show? That's a little too much. This seems like the end. It was/ is a great show and I think they should be happy the way it is. They can use their time on Angel and that should be a great show. Not as great as the first show but still great. They just need Darla back

What makes you so sure that they're will be an 8th season? Do you really think UPN thinks that a show will do good with out the character the show is named after?! Whoops! Nevermind, this is UPN we're talking about! Nevermind. HaHa. - Well, I just don't think they're will be an 8th season, cuz the show is getting tired out. How many plots can they make? And, if they did the whole Dawn crap (which is nasty, she isn't attractive like Sarah) it would be a big remake of the first season, and they'd be ruining the show! I don't want that! It's one of my favs!

The creator or producers or whatever they are, are talking about an 8th season. UPN only bought the show for 2 years, I'm pretty sure this will be there last. But if it goes on.... Bye - bye Sarah & Emma.

I definitely won't watch it if Sarah isn't there. I mean, she's the star of the show!

I could live without Sarah but Emma? No way! She and Xander are the only funny characters left. The show started to go down the tubes when Giles left, now it's almost completely hopeless. Maybe Jonathan could be the slayer; now that would be funny!

Dawn as the Slayer? Um, I think I'd be done watching the show. It would be more amusing to see Willow as the Slayer. At least now we know she's capable of some real damage...

My aunt says she wants them to kill Buffy, leave her dead, and then the show would be perfect.

It's taken me a while, but I think I have figured out she hates her!

Now Willow as the slayer! I'd watch that!
