Default "The Handicap Spot"

Now that "The Inventation" episode is back in syndication and finally "The Puerto Rican Day Parade" has aired in syndication. I wish that they would air at least one the original version of "The Handicap Spot" with John Randolph playing Frank Costanza. Though it is hard for me to image anyone but Jerry Steller playing Frank. I am just curious to see this version.

They wont show this episode or any other episodes that were different when they first aired becasue they retaped or recorded the people or voices out for syndication. Like in the Revenge when newman threatens to jump of the building and were u never see him but just hear his voice. In the original episode larry david does newmans voice but it was retaped with wayne knight doing it when it was put into reruns.

Yet in the early episode Jerry's father is played by a different actor... I wonder why they left that intact while replacing George's father with reshoots?

Yes, but they re-shot the footage with Jerry Stiller in it, before syndication.

I'd rather not. I liked the one with Jerry Stiller WAY better than the one with John Randolph. Jerry made the episode funny and comical. John, to me, just made the episode very "bland" or "plain". But hey, that's just my own two cents

Jerry Stiller is a king of comedy.

For example, after all these years I bought a copy of Zoolander to check out David Bowie's cameo in there.

The movie was horrid, not even Bowie could save it.

But there was Jerry Stiller, being Jerry Stiller... his small part almost DID save the film.

Didn't John Randolph play Jerry's father in the Stakeout episode?

There was indeed another actor playing Jerry's father in the early episodes, but the name eludes me at the moment.

Wow, never knew about the original George's father. I only saw the show in syndication.

I never liked the actors cast as Jerry's parents. Just me I'm sure.

Yeah, I thought there was someone else as George's father when the episode aired originally.

Who might have been better as Jerry's parents?
