Mary Tyler Moore also had a 1978 variety hour called "Mary", separate from the "Mary Tyler Moore Hour" in 1979 and the "Mary" sitcom in 1985.
Dick Van Dyke had a 1980s sitcom called "The Van Dyke Show". Carol Burnett had a 1979 ABC variety show called "Carol Burnett and Company". "Carol Burnett & Friends" was the syndicated title for "Carol Burnett Show" reruns. She also did a sitcom pilot in the 1990s called "Burnett" (it never aired). Bob Newhart had a 1960s variety show called "The Bob Newhart Show", unrelated to his 1970s series. Bill Cosby had a 1970s variety series called "Cos". Ted Knight had two separate series called "The Ted Knight Show". One was on CBS in the late 70s, and the other one was a follow-up to "Too Close For Comfort", and was syndicated in 1986. |
