Thumbs down Don't Get It?

What do you people see in this show? It is corny, hickish, in awful black and white most of the time, unfunny, no sex, no action, and the closest thing to a babe is Charlene Darvin. I mean puhleeze!

Your post subject says it all, you "don't get it." Apparently someone like you doesn't have the capacity to appreciate anything that doesn't consist of half naked women, inane dialogue, foul language, or a combination of all of the above. This show has something that is missing from most tv programs, and that is "heart." The show consisted of characters that you cared and loved, Mayberry was a town that you wanted to be a part of. Now how many shows can you say that about? I mean who would want to live in a setting of any of today's shows?

Yep, you are correct sir or madame, you certainly do not get why people love this show and the sad part is you probably never will.

Sad

I wish to offer an apology to those on the "Andy Griffith Show" board for the above post bashing the series. An unauthorized person obtained without my consent my user name and information stored on my computer and utilized it for inappropriate purposes. That person has been dealt with and I can assure you that it shall never take place again.

I hope this doesn't cast negative opinions regarding me, for if they do, let me state unequivocally that I love the series and would never say anything harsh about it. Again my sincerest regrets for the incident and hope that I may remain in good standing with the board members.

One at a time:

Corny: All shows are like that whether its the Brady Bunch house not matching up the outside & inside views, Three's Company having the "misunderstanding gag" all the time, or the Ally McBeal where an anorexic type thing always chases after guys. Really Calista? Some of the most sexiest girls I've seen have been on Andy Griffith. Get to that in a minute.

Hickish: Maybe you're mistaking quaint country life with hickness. Gomer was so hicky he ended up in California in the big city to do Marine work & guess what? He survived more than 3 episodes. Amen. In the end its just a matter of opinion.

In Black and White: Actually the B & W shows are the Best. Color eps are mediocre in comparison. No color means No Barney. Click I find that the combined effect of the show is enhanced by the Black & White. No modern glare of bright colors like some shows & ads of today.

Unfunny: Well this stuff blows you away in the Barney & Andy dept, the Gomer dept, Ernest T Bass dept, Brisco Darling dept, the camp of older quaint life should be amusing. Oh well.

No sex: Thank God, I don't think Emma Brand could've taken much more! Let's see:

Ellie gave off sexual vibes towards Andy & Barney I remember.

So did the Fun Girls

So did that blond prisoner.

No action: Better watch more shows; some of them eps are hard to keep up with, especially the Barney ones. Besides life was better back then. People had more time to know each other & stuff, not like today where folks are distant lonely unsatisfied well people. Amen.

Babes:

Ellie Walker
Fun Girls
Helen Crump
Thelma Lou
Several of Andy's girlfriends
Ramona

Just a matter of opinion though.

My personal favorite: Ellie Walker.

Here is a good site I recommend:
www.jumptheshark.com Amen &

Amen.
