Has anybody noticed that most sitcom weddings take place in somebody's house or place of business rather than some sort of church or temple?

For Example:
Diff'rent Strokes- Phillip and Maggie get married in the Penthouse
Cheers- Sam and Diane attempt to get married in the bar.
Etc, etc...
