An I Love Lucy Mothers Day

(Lucy along with her visiting mother are in the kitchen. Ethel comes by.)

Ethel: “Morning girls.”

Lucy: “Ethel, guess what?”

Lucy’s Mother: “For Mickey’s nightclub show on Mothers Day, he is going to have a show where a mother and daughter will sing.”

Ethel: “You think Ricky will allow this?”

Lucy: “Of course. He hasn’t seen both of our talents at our very best.”

(Ricky comes in.)

Ricky: “Hi girls.”

Lucy’s Mother: “Oh Mickey.”

(Ricky rolls his eyes.)

Lucy’s Mother: “I heard about your Mothers Day show at the Club. Me and Lucy…”

Ricky: “No.”

Lucy: “Ricky, you haven’t seen us sing at our very best.”

Ricky: “Oh really? Listen Lucy, if you come within 100 feet of my club on Mother’s Day Night, I will take away your Henna Rinse.”

(He leaves.)

Lucy: “I have a plan. Ethel, you will help us.”

(On Mothers Day night, Ricky meets with Fred.)

Fred: “Ricky, I just saw those young moms.”

(He whistles. Ricky laughs.)

Ricky: “This show will be broadcasted over the Internet and I’m ready.”

(Backstage, Ethel supplies Lucy and her mom with costumes so they wouldn’t be recognized.)

Lucy: “I think tonight will be a smashing success.”

Ethel: “Either that or Ricky will smash you.”

Lucy: “After tonight, he won’t get mad.”

(It’s time for the show to start. Ricky sees Lucy and her mom and he gets mad.)

Lucy & her mom (singing loudly and off-key): “GOD BLESS AMERICAAAAAAAAAAAA…”

(Windows get smashed due to the loud noise and rain water cones in. Ricky confronts Lucy.)

Lucy: “Now Ricky. What would your mother say?”

(Ricky yells in Spanish as the skit ends.)
