Default Some things that just didn't make sense

Iv'e noticed there are a lot of things on Happy Days that just don't make sense to me. First off, when the show first started Richie and his friends were 17 and were High School Juniors. The second season they were Seniors, and in Season 3, when Fonzie Moves over the Garage, they go back to being Juniors again, and are seniors again in season 4. Another thing is the same exact thing seemed to happen to Joanie when she got to be the same age. And Fonzie states many times during the last season that he has been living over the Cunningham's Garage for 6 years when actually, if you do the math, at that time it had been 9 years. I don't know why they just can't say things the way theyr'e supposed to be.

I think everything that happened in the first 2 seasons were forgotten. So Happy Days seasons 3-11 were the real Happy Days. About Fonzie living above the Cunningham garage, they should have said 8 years I think, right? Or 7?

Actually, Ive always thought as the first 2 seasons his junior year, never his senior too, not until 4th season. I also think they did that, because since they went live, they could add more storylines about highschool and teenage dillemas, since they teens were the real big fans. Plus, Fonzie always had to be the older one. So if he was 19 the guys were 17, so they couldnt be like, only a year younger!! They needed like an older brother for advice.

I agree, after the first 2 seasons there were changes in the show, so I guess were to ignore them. When a show is on for that length of time I guess it's hard for the writers to remember every detail, of course new writers come on board too. Don't they know die-hard fans pick this kind of stuff up. Geezzzz!!! LOL!

Garry Marshall said perfection is boring. He doesnt like things to match because it adds flavor. I read that on a L&S website about bloopers and inconsistencies. Hmm?? Maybe it applies to that too?

One of the few things i dont like about Happy Days is the realism. Their are way too many things that dont make sence.

Except they sometimes showed flashbacks from the first two seasons, even during the last season! (But, of course, no flashbacks of Chuck), I think we're supposed to believe that only PORTIONS of those first two seasons existed.

My theory is that it was an entire conspiracy put together by the Fonz so everyone would forget that there was a time when he didn't wear a leather jacket. He thought it made him look uncool. I think he got Mork to help him with this by having him manipulate a time portal that pushed everything back by one or two years. Therefore, Richie and the gang would become juniors again. But of course, when you mess with time, there will be consequences. This is why Chuck and the memory of him was erased, because he was lost in time when the portal was manipulated.

There...now the mysteries of Happy Days have been explained.

You are so right about a lot of things on Happy Days not making sense as time on the show passed. What other show has one of their children just never being mentioned again and disappearing into thin air as though he never existed (Chuck...the greatest mystery on Happy Days) and what show has the house turn all backwards and having whole rooms (dining room) just disappearing without an explanation. Also after this the back door in the kitchen opens onto near where the front door, once on the other side of the room, now opens!!! Weird huh

They forgot about the youngest daughter on Family Matters, too, just thought I'd add that .

Yeah, the way they just ignored history on HD used to bother me, but now I just think it adds to the humor of the show in a way.
