In the episode Steinberg And Son, Grady probably had the best come back line on that show.

Fred, Lamont, Esther and Grady were getting ready to go see new TV series based on Sanford and Son. Bubble walked in and tell Fred too bad he can't go with them since he love the new TV show.

He tell Fred that show seem to be direct copy from your life. With mean grouchy old father, the dumb son, the ugly sister in law, and stupid dump friend-while looking at Grady.

Grady look at Bubble and said he is too hard on himself. Meaning the dumb friend is Bubble, not Grady

Grady was the only one to clap back, lol! I noticed that in that episode as well. That's what I like about S&S. Not so much with that episode but others. Certain secondary characters would get to shine. A perfect example was Mr. Cool himself, Rollo! That wild parsley episode showed that with a good script peripheral characters could burn bright! That one is in my Top Ten!
