i saw an episode of Top Cat online and remember the show well from when I was growing up in the 1960s and 1970s. It had a great theme song, an outstanding voice cast anchored by Arnold Stang and outstanding scripts.
Though Top Cat wasn't as successful as The Flintstones in prime time, it thrived in Saturday morning reruns and in syndication. Anyone else remember this show from Hanna-Barbera? |

I remember watching it in the mid 60's when I was little. He was a pretty cool cat.

It was a funny show, originally in black and white on primetime ABC. It was produced in color and all the later showings were that way.
It really deserved more than a season but that's all it got. All the cat characters were unique and well thought out, with that always-conniving leader, T. C. I liked how they always put one over on their nemesis, Ofcr. Dibble. No other primetime cartoons from the 60s could match the success of the Flintstones. Both The Jetsons and Jonny Quest were limited to one season (although The Jetsons were revived in the 80s), and from Warners The Bugs Bunny Show ran two seasons. All of these shows were on ABC. |
