The 1950s teen idol was known for his hits 'Wildwood Days,' 'Volare,' 'Swinging School,' among many others. Didn't Bobby Rydell also have a hit with Wild One? That's such a really funny song that Bobby really has fun with. The last time I saw Bobby Rydell was he was hosting informercials for Time-Life Music and I read that he was gonna go on a final tour but had to cancel it due to health problems but Bobby was a great guy with loads of fun songs that could be played at a party

Loved Bobby. His songs take me back to my childhood in the 50's. Sweet Memories! RIP Bobby

Bobby Rydell appeared in a 3rd season episode of The Joey Bishop Show sitcom.
Vic Damone passed away in 2018, he also appeared in a 3rd season episode of The Joey Bishop Show sitcom. R.I.P. to both. |

Bobby Rydell was one of my favorite performers from the late 50s and early 60s, which happens to be my favorite era of music. He was one of the biggest teen idols to appear on "American Bandstand" at that time along with Frankie Avalon, Fabian, Annette, and Paul Anka. Unlike his peers, Bobby's Hollywood career was relatively brief. That was his own choice because he didn't want to get trapped in having too much fame and fortune. He was a good man who made some great songs and I will miss him. I will post his TV appearances on my fantasy channel "Random Retro Rewind" later this morning on the General Sitcoms page. Look for it sometime before noon.
