Gilbert Gottfried Is the New Permanent Host of Jeopardy! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik had been considered the frontrunners for the permanent hosting job, alternating all the hosting duties this year and doing well at it. But Sony went in a totally different direction. They want a lot of comedy added to Jeopardy, so they will be announcing Gilbert Gottfried as the new permanent host starting with the 2022-2023 season (a Sony executive who wanted to remain anonymous confirmed this to me). While he seems like a bizarre choice, Gilbert does have game show experience from his stint on Hollywood Squares.

He will also be remembered for the Tom Bergeron hosted version of Hollywood Squares and the episode where he was the only celebrity chosen for most of the show and every time a contestant made an incorrect judgement he would bellow "YOU FOOL!" Even Penn Jillette got into the act.

I'm not a Gilbert Gottfried fan but it's kind of weird he should die shortly after this April Fool's Day prank announcement was posted.

Reallistically, Maybe Jeopardy does not have to confirm Gilbert Gottfried as host because it’s been 72 hours since he left our world.

You see, CatsRule/IceCream? this is EXACTLY why I had such a meltdown over somebody as old as LeVar Burton becoming the permanent host of Jeopardy!! Suggesting Mr. Burton as host right now would just be opening up a can of worms at this point, especially considering that he already turned 65 last February. No wonder why I don't take April Fool's jokes too well.

What's to stop a 30-year-old host from getting into a car wreck?
