Question Guitar mike...guitar mike

The "guitar mike" thing was an afterthought. Do you know who said that, and on what historically famous recording it was said on? Now, on to the post.

Why doesn't someone tell them? -- On the MTV awards shows the presenters stand straight up, like normal people, while talking into the microphone. But when the award winning group or person comes up to thank everyone who ever lived they stoop down into the mike. How come they don't know that they don't need to do that? I mean, they've been watching the presenters. Wouldn't you think that they would be used to microphones and know how to use them since they're using them all the time?

thats true. i never really thought about it but now that I think about its pretty funny. Its like: no u dont need to do that. And its funny because some of the winners are presenters themselves, yet when they're accepting an award they stoop down to the mike.

About the 'guitar mike' question, that is supposed be "Guitar mic...guitar mic" as in microphone.

Arrgh!! I should know the answer to that but I honestly don't have a scooby! Put me outta my misery and tell us what it is.

It was Richie Havens singing his rendition of the spiritual "Motherless Child" which he basically changed to "Freedom. It's on the Woodstock album. He begins his hard driving acoustic guitar introduction and then he must have been unsure if the sound person had turned on the guitar mic. So before singing any of the lyrics he says "Guitar mic ... guitar mic." Then he continues with his guitar playing and began singing in his chillingly powerful voice. Great stuff! And I've always gotten an extra kick out of, guitar mic.
