I've seen posts on Facebook Facts of Life groups that said that "Flash Flood" was cringeworthy, especially Blair's crush on Mr. Bradley. It would have been cringeworthy if Mr. Bradley played on Blair's emotions rather than distancing himself from her.
What are your thoughts? |

I don't think "Flash Flood" was cringeworthy. Cringeworthy, to me, are "Seven Little Indians" and "Golden Oldies". Oh, the sight gag of Blair in SLI is okay, and "I'm flat busted" in GO is cute, but it's a sort of Three's Company-style humor: they're farcical episodes very far from the original premise of the show.

It was "strange", especially when Blair called the headmaster Stephen (or Steven?). Aside from that, it was a good episode

The only thing I cringed at was the idea that Tootie would have attempted to escape a flood by mounting a horse- STILL wearing those roller skates! Unless they were welded to their feet, I can't imagine ANYone would have been dumb enough to have tried doing that- especially if they were in danger of possibly drowning!

No, it wasn't cringeworthy. People love to get so up in cringeworthiness on social media. "That show started out so creepy. A man was constantly walking into a girls' dorm unannounced! A MAN!"
People just don't stop to think. |

It's true he walked into a dorm room in "The Return of Mr. Garrett", but Mr. Garrett was already up there. It's true that he goes up to Blair's room in "Dope", but it's to search for marijuana. It's true that he threatens to go to Sue Ann's room in "Dieting", but he does not. |

I imagine this photo would have caused lots of uproar in some circles today if the show was on today.
