Do you remember when Dolby Digital became all the rage in movie theaters? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

When you look at the general picture it amazes me how movies in movie theaters sound so amazing but when you get to watch a movie at home it is different. When Dolby Digital was introduced in theaters in the 70's people were surprised at how great Dolby Digital did for movies by improving the sound a lot better on movies and it's no secret why movie theaters still use Dolby Digital for it's movies. Do you think that there will be another company like Dolby to improve a better sound system for movie theaters in the future so we can see movies with more amazing sound?

Dolby digital was used in the 70s??

Its disgusting sounding.. This is the main reason I dont goto the theather anymore.... The sound is horrible!!!! -- Like those SOUNDBARS people have,absolute garbage!!!
