Will Press Your Luck return to ABC this summer as well as Supermarket Sweep Season 3? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Has there been talk at ABC on whether or not Press Your Luck will return this summer or if Supermarket Sweep will be renewed for a third season this year? If those two shows get renewed it will be great to see my two favorite female game show hosts "Leslie Jones and Elizabeth Banks host my two favorite game shows

What's the status on Press Your Luck's return at ABC? Because I haven't heard news about a season premiere airdate. And what's the latest about Supermarket Sweep's third season from ABC?

Press Your Luck returns with its season 4 premiere Thursday, July 7. Press Your Luck will air Thursdays at 8:00 eastern leading into new show Generation Gap hosted by Kelly Ripa. The week before its season premiere on June 30, ABC is airing a marathon of Press Your Luck repeats from 8-11, plus it repeats at 10:00 the previous night on June 29. Supermarket Sweep is cancelled, no season 3 there.

So Press Your Luck is debuting it's season premiere on July 7th? Sounds exciting to see it's long awaited Season 4 premiere. I'm looking forward to seeing it on Hulu. But why did ABC cancel Supermarket Sweep? It was such a dynamite hit that deserved a third chance and ABC should've never cancelled it in the first place when it was doing so well. Oh, well at least I have my David Ruprecht reruns of Supermarket Sweep to watch on Amazon Prime and Buzzr. Now I believe the new show The Generation Gap is a remake of a show that was hosted by a guy named Dennis Wholey. I wonder how great this show will do for Kelly Ripa in her game show debut?

From what I read, it looks like The Generation Gap is a remake of the short-lived prime time game show that was first hosted by Dennis Wholey. He was replaced by Jack Barry, who returned to network TV after he was blacklisted for his role in the quiz show scandals. I'm curious to watch the remake and hopefully it will have a longer run than the New York produced version that aired in early 1969.
