How I Met Your Father's latest How I Met Your Mother cameo "just fit so seamlessly into the story that we were telling"

Director Pamela Fryman was shocked that the Season 1 finale cameo wasn't leaked since they had to shoot it early on. HIMYF co-creator Isaac Aptaker adds: "We took out the scenes from the finale script that went out to the studio and to the network, so it was, like, half length, then (those pages featuring the big surprise) went to a very limited group."
