Post There have been many discussions about this.

And I'd LOVE to see it happen! Nicole Kidman (IMO) would be a great 'Sam'...and of course Jim Carey would HAVE to play Darrin!

And how 'bout this...half way through the movie, SWITCH DARRINS!

And if she was a little younger and healthier...I've always thought Liz Taylor would make a great Endora!

I think Nicole would be fine as Sam, but I'm not sure about Jim Carrey as Darrin--yes, he has the rubbery face, but I think he would totally dominate it with his antics. I'm also opposed to switching Darrins midway--it would mean the movie is a parody and I would prefer it be done straight as a romantic comedy--the way the show presented itself during the first three seasons.

Hi everyone..
I agree totally with Chuck and Pontoon. But if Jim Carey were to be Darrin, he'd have to tone himself down or he'd be ridiculing the show, IMO. Liz Taylor would make an excellent Endora too.. you folks should write the script...lol. So who do we have as baby Tabitha? Anyone?

BTW.. anyone know when and where Bewitched is aired these days?

Also.. does anyone know if it's available on DVD soon? I have about 20 eps on tape.

Thanks a bunch everyone.

Hehe yea. Umm..Bewitched airs on UPN for me in the AM, but Im sure its different for everyone. Hmmm...Tabitha?? Olsen twins are too old lol.

Jim Carrey ridiculing Bewitched??? You havent seen the Re-Run show than, have you? lol. Maybe you liked it (if you even saw it), but I thought it was totally stupid! It had NOTHING to do with the show! I like classic SO much better!!

Anyways..good luck with the Bewitched on tv! Id recommend www.gist.com Gives you listings of shows in your area.

I always thought Meg Ryan would be the perfect actress to play Samantha Stevens in a modern movie. She looks a lot like Elizabeth Montgomery (at least to me she does).

God I hope they NEVER make that Bewitched movie!!!!! Leave it alone I say and just cherish the wonderful series. No performers could work the magic (no pun intended) that the original cast could. And Nicole Kidman as Samantha? Ug!!! she hasn't got one tenth of the charm of Elizabeth Montgomery. It's like trying to do a remake of "Gone With The Wind"..... sacriledge. Although I DO think Elizabeth Taylor would be excellent as Endora. Joan Collins would be another great choice too I think but really...NO ONE can replace Agnes Moorehead in the role she was one of a kind and made Endora an unforgettable classic character.

There are lots of good possibilities for actors in a Bewitched movie in this old thread.

Oh, good. I thought I was the only one who wasn't too crazy about the idea of a Bewitched movie. I dunno, it just really bothers me. I'd rather Bewitched be remembered as it is, as this perfect show with a great cast back in the '60s and early '70s. I don't want it updated and messed with and played by different actors. Look, if people started saying they wanted to do a remake of say, Casablanca, people would be riotous about it, wouldn't they? 'Cause Casablanca's a classic and all that. To me, Bewitched is the same thing. You just don't mess with classics.

I really hope they do make the movie. I think Meg Ryan would be the perfect Actress to play Samantha. To bad Elizabeth is not alive, she could have at least directed the movie.

I agree with everyone who thinks it's a bad idea because it is. When I think of Bewitched I like to think of the actual show not some crummy movie. Lets face it, remake movies aren't as always as good as the original thing itself. If they do however make the movie the only way you'd get me to go watch it is if Betty White plays Aunt Clara. I have no intention of going to see Nicole Kidman ruin Samantha's wonderful charm. For pete's sake, Samantha should at least be played by someone who's American!

At almost 42, I think Meg Ryan is too old for the role of Samantha. My vote goes to Drew Barrymore or Reese Witherspoon.
For Darrin, it just has to be Jim Carrey. He would have to tone it down a few notches, and he'd be perfect for the role.
I'd love to see a Bewitched movie. I think it would be a tribute to the memory of the show.
