It is too bad Nash wasn't a real cop. I like him a lot more than Levitt and Luger.

They run the same story with Phil Leeds on Night Court, except he's a fake judge.

I agree. He was a nice fellow. They could have kept him on in a recurring role to give viewers a respite from Levitt, Luger and Scanlon who all tended to be a bit obnoxious.

I enjoyed the late Phil Leeds' performance (his sixth appearance on "Barney Miller," of seven overall) as "Officer" Louis Nash in "The Delegate," which aired in late 1980 (during the seventh season)! Leeds truly stole the show, which he usually did in virtually every role he portrayed during his nearly half-century long career (Leeds' brief but memorable scene alongside Patrick Swayze in the supernatural romance/thriller "Ghost" is still a personal favorite of mine). May Leeds continue to rest in peace...he is still missed.

If Leeds had become a regular, he wouldn't have been the husband in the "Stress Analyzer" episode, fought over by Florence Halop and Ann Morgan Guilbert.
