Default You know you live in a small town when

1. Half of the town has the same last name
2. Your related to half of the town
3. Your going down town and the whole town stops to talk to ya
4. You go into 3 stores and you see the same person and that's because they work there
5. One person says they saw this person last night at this place and then by the end of the day the whole town is talking about it
6. A new couple moves in and the whole town throws them a welcome to the neighborhood party
7. Highschool sporting events are the major heighlight of the week
8. The main things to do is go crusing or drinking at the bar
9. You have one public school
10. The main street is only 5 blocks long

well..my summer house is just north of the middle of nowhere....

If you leave your keys in your car and the next day....or week... your car is still there.

If you can pay for six big macs with a personal check.

If people drive 100 miles to shop in a real mall.

If you think you're in a traffic jam when you're in the second car at the light.

If you don't use your blinker because everyone already knows where you're going.

If you and your friend across town complain about a skunk smell from a roadkill...and it's the same skunk.

If every time you get married, you still have the same in-laws

Well, You guys just described my town completely. That's exactly how it is here! My town has only 2,800 people, so it's very small.
I have to drive to Charleston (100 miles away) to get to a good mall!

Everyone here is related..I go in the grocery store & see like my whole family! I don't have the same last name as everybody else tho. heh, heh

People stop their vehicles in the middle of the streets to talk.

Everyone knows everything about everybody else.

Who else lives in small town USA?

Mine too. Kinda. A mile and a 1/2 to the ice cream place and 4 miles into a down-town that consists of 8 stores/shops.

You know you live in a small town when the entire town is up for sale. That happened in the town that I lived in for most of my life. I moved away before they sold it. Actually, I don't know if they ever did sell it. If they did it doesn't look any different than it did before as far as I can tell from the 8 seconds it takes to drive through it like I do once in a while on my way to someplace else.

Hehe, Same here.

Although I wouldn't call NYC too big, cause, well, you can get almost anywhere by trains, etc, and such

... but if I were forced to walk, that's another story.
