Should Bud have lost his car for what he did in Chicago running up the hotel bill?

The guys did tell him to charge what he wanted, within reason which to me would be rather individual. They should have clarified food only, but Bud should have know flowers for a date is not what they meant.

I think the parents rescued them too much.

Yeah, they did tell him that. So getting all that room service stuff made a little sense. Then he takes her to that expensive restaurant that I assume is part of the hotel, with the flaming dessert, etc.

When he let Betty take the rap for his ticket, he got off relatively easy and had his car back a few episodes later. So for this stupid thing Jim should have probably let him sell it to get the money, like he was going to do.
