Default Jaci Velasquez

At the young age of 16 Jaci Velasquez made her debut in 1996 with the album Heavenly Place and has quickly become very popular in Christian music and has even crossed over to the Spanish language side and has released dozens of Spanish language albums too. I have liked Jaci Velasquez since her Christmas album and based on liking that album an avalanche of Jaci Velasquez albums ended up in my music collection. I highly recommend you listen to Jaci Velasquez's album because she is so amazing and a terrific role model for all ages

Saw one of her shows in must have been 1998 or so. Michelle Tumes opened for her, then sang back-up with Jaci's band. She was a little ball of fire. This was her hit at the time, I think. (Video quality isn't good but the audio is alright.)

Michelle Tumes wrote the song You from Jaci Velasquez's self-titled second album and that song Glory is also from Jaci's second album too. But I didn't know Michelle Tumes sang in Jaci's band as a background singer? That second album of Jaci Velasquez was my first non-Christmas album of hers and started my Jaci Velasquez album collection and I also have all her Spanish language albums too. I sure wish Jaci Velasquez released another album because she is so great. It's wonderful to find another fan of Jaci Velasquez who enjoys her music as much as I do
Thank you very much for replying Herbert,

I meant that Michelle sang backup with Jaci's band that night, not as a regular job. I think Michelle struggled with stage fright and did that as a way to get more comfortable in front of an audience. She did perform as a solo act to open that concert. She was obviously a little uncomfortable, especially when at one point her electric piano lost power before she began a song, but she performed well, even if she was quite subdued compared to Jaci.

Oh No

I remember Jaci Velazquez was the rising name in Christian pop, but for some reason her appearance in the movie 'Chasing Papi' made her somehow a "persona non gratis" to Christians. I never understood it.

I saw the movie Chasing Papi just because Jaci Velasquez was in it and I was shocked at how well she could act and it proved another sign that Jaci Velasquez could expand her horizons beyond singing. Jaci also sang a song called I Don't Need A Man and that song has a really nice beat to it. I think when her album Beauty Has Grace came out it was a great album but I think it wasn't as successful as her other albums because of her new rock sound but with Love Out Loud Jaci was back on top

Hi, Bestie! I saw that movie. It was pretty good. Jaci did a good job in it. I was surprised she could act. She seems to be multi-talented. Does she still perform Christian music?

What I mainly think Jaci Velasquez was trying to do was trying to compete with other Christian female artists such as Amy Grant and Crystal Lewis but why I think she took the movie Chasing Papi was so she could have a movie career but like Amy Grant I think she wanted to cross over to the pop genre but it somehow seemed the Christian genre was better for her but in Spanish her albums crossed over to Spanish language radio and she was successful in the Spanish language market. But it is surprising that Jaci Velasquez has not released another album since her last album Trust was released in 2016 and she is now focusing on being an author

On my copy of the movie soundtrack Music Of The Heart I discovered a song called Love Will Find You that's an English version of Jaci Velasquez's first Spanish hit and it is a cool ballad and I only had heard the Spanish version of Love Will Find You it sounded amazing and I never knew an English version existed before. I also learned that Jaci teamed up with Fisher-Price and released a album of Spanish language lullabies that's also wonderful. I sure wish Jaci Velasquez would release another album because she is terrific
